The Ministry of Health Asks the Community not to Erase Care and Protect

DDHK. ORG – PeduliLindungi is considered to still provide benefits to the community. This is the reason the Ministry of Health asked people throughout Indonesia not to delete the PeduliLindungi application even though the government had revoked the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

“Don't delete CareProtect it. Someone deleted PeduliLindungi because PPKM had been revoked, later once it was removed (if needed) they were confused about having to download it again. Remember that there are still benefits," said the Head of the Ministry of Health's Communication and Public Service Bureau Siti Nadia Tarmizi in closing the Indonesia COVID-19 Surge Response (ICSR) which was attended online in Jakarta, Thursday (26/1/2023).

Reporting from Republika, Nadia said, PeduliLindungi can still help the community in getting services health via telemedicine for people who are in independent isolation (isoman) due to being infected with Covid-19.

In data from the Ministry of Health's telemedicine services from January 17 to December 31 2022, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 patients reached 1.823.209 people.

A total of 1.628.354 people received notifications via WhatsApp. Then, 576.978 of the patients contacted telemedicine. A total of 542.840 people have received prescriptions for processing and are ready to be sent and 542.025 of them have received drug packages.

Nadia stated that the number of telemedicine users will continue to grow and be recorded. Telemedicine services have also reached 14 major areas in Indonesia Indonesia and partnered with around 17 health platforms.

Since November 2022, patients can also choose one of the methods of delivery or collection of drugs either through a package courier at no charge or picked up by online motorcycle taxis and the patient's guardian at the expense of each party.

Apart from providing telemedicine services, Nadia continued, data related to the Covid-19 vaccination is also still provided in PeduliLindungi. This helps people to be more practical in showing their health data.

“PeduliLindungi is still useful for all of us. Even though several malls no longer require PeduliLindungi, it can break the chain of transmission, that it is impossible for people who are positive to enter public places and so on,” said Nadia.

Nadia emphasized that even though the government had revoked PPKM and focused on getting through the transition from pandemic to endemic, all developments in Covid-19 indicators were still being monitored including hospital occupancy rates (BOR), virus reproduction (Rt), to death cases.

"Maybe there are ordinary people infected with Covid-19, but don't die. Just like dengue fever that still exists, but don't let extraordinary events occur. This is the same pattern of infectious diseases," he said.

The Ministry of Health ensures that all 3T activities (testing, tracing and treatment), vaccination, and health protocols remain the government's strategy in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. The government is also continuing to sharpen genomic surveillance in laboratories so that they can find out each characteristic of the Covid-19 subvariant in order to protect the public from infection transmission.

"We have also expanded from 16 laboratories to 41 laboratories. This means that we continue to monitor possible potentials for the existence of other new subvariants," he concluded. [DDHK News]
