DDHK.ORG - Macau is experiencing a spike in new Covid-19 cases. On Tuesday morning, October 5, 2021, the country's health authorities confirmed the 75th case.

Official Facebook account Macau Canal TDM reported, “This is the 4th case diagnosed locally in less than 24 hours.”

The patient is a 42-year-old woman, not a Vietnamese citizen who worked with patients 72, 73, and 74 in the renovation of a residential unit located in the Kam Toi Lei Fa Yun Building, Rua Pedro Coutinho. “The Corona Virus Response and Coordination Center is still investigating the source of the infection. Authorities say that the patient has no symptoms and has been transferred to the Community Health Clinical Center in Coloane for further diagnosis and treatment,” wrote TDM Canal Macau.

Since the 72nd, 73rd and 74th cases were confirmed as cases of local infection on Monday evening, October 4, Macau issued a third round of nucleic acid mass testing policy.

Cases in this 1 cluster began with the confirmation of the 72nd case, on Monday morning. The patient is a 46 year old man, a worker from Mainland China who works in a construction company.

The man lived in the Doumen district of Zhuhai. The patient travels between Macau and Zhuhai every day and uses a motorbike to move around Macau.

He has been living in Macau since September 26, staying at hotels such as the Grand Emperor, Sands, and the Victoria Hotel. “Nucleic acid test results were negative on September 28 and 30.
