The phrase "good women for good men and good men for good women" interpreted with various interpretations.
Reporting from Republic, some think that bad people cannot be with good people or even question this verse because they feel that they have a bad partner, while they feel good.
Regarding this verse, Allah SWT said in Alquran:
ٱلْخَبِيثَٰتُ لِلْخَبِيثِينَ وَٱلْخَبِيثُونَ لِلْخَبِيثتَّبَّبَّبَٰتُ لِلطَّيِّبِينَ وَٱلطَبِيثتِ ۖ ل ل ل لry Masterونَ مِمَّا يَقُولُونَ ۖ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ
Meaning: "Abominable women are for abominable men, and abominable men are for abominable women (too), and good women are for good men and good is for good women (too). They (the accused) are clean from what they (the accusers) accused. For them forgiveness and glorious sustenance (heaven)." (QS. An Nur: 26).
Secretary of Fatwa at Dar Ifta Mahmoud Shalaby said this verse is related to a person's tendency.
A good person, whether it's a man or a woman, will tend to choose a good partner.
“That good men tend instinctively to those who look like them and who agree with them among the girls. And vice versa," said Sheikh Shalaby, quoted from Elbalad, Monday (9/1/2023).
He added, in a video broadcast by Dar ifta on YouTube, there is no provision in Shari'a law which states that a person with bad temperament cannot marry a good woman (as some people understand).
In fact, it is an obligation for a man to find a good wife and choose a mother for his children who maintains his honor and wealth, and vice versa.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Yusri Azzam, preacher of Islam, said, Rasulullah SAW said, a woman can be married for four reasons: her wealth, her lineage, her beauty, and her religion.
"Whoever takes it because of his beauty, then gets his beauty, and whoever takes it because the genealogy that is obtained is his genealogy, and whoever takes it because of his religion, then he will get wealth, beauty and genealogy. So choose because of his religion, “he explained. [DDHK News]
