DDHK.ORG - Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96 on Thursday (8/9/2022), after becoming the longest-serving monarch of the British Empire, 70 years. Prince Charles, the Queen's eldest son, was appointed King of England and will bear the title of King Charles III of England.
The news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II was confirmed by the kingdom via social media. "The Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon," The Royal Family tweeted.
The sad news was announced shortly after Buckingham Palace also published a statement regarding the Queen's worrying health condition on Thursday (8/9) afternoon UK time. "Based on the results of the evaluation this morning (Thursday), the Queen's doctors have begun to worry about the health of Her Majesty (Queen Elizabeth II) and recommend that she remain under medical monitoring," a statement from the Palace said.
Shortly after the announcement, members of the royal family headed for Scotland's Balmoral Palace. Until Buckingham Palace on Thursday (8/9/) afternoon announced Queen Elizabeth II had died.
Queen Elizabeth II is even listed as the longest-serving queen in the kingdom in world history. The beginning of his journey began on February 6, 1952, when King George VI, who had two daughters namely Elizabeth and Margaret, died after a prolonged illness. Reporting from the official website of the United Kingdom, the eldest princess George VI, whose real name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, later ascended the throne, becoming Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth II's coronation took place at Westminster Abbey on 2 June 1953, and was presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury Geoffrey Fisher. Queen Elizabeth later also became Chair of the Commonwealth as well as queen of seven independent Commonwealth Realms, namely: United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. After 70 years after her coronation as Queen, Elizabeth left due to her health condition.
