Istanbul Turkish Kebabs and Grills, Halal Resto on Wan Chai Road

HALAL FOOD

WAN CHAI | HONG KONG - Hong Kong is now attracting a lot of attention from the public traveler, including Muslim ones. The country, which is often referred to as the Land of Concrete, is also home to and works for around 180 thousand Indonesians, the majority of whom are Muslim.

For Muslim Friends, wherever they are and travel, of course the location of where halal food and restaurants is a must be known. In this edition, I am from the DDHKNews team reviewing a halal restaurant located on Wan Chai Road. Namely, Istanbul Turkish Kebabs and Grills.

If Sahabat Muslim wants to try Mediterranean-style dishes, Turkish, and menus that are a combination of West and East, this restaurant can be an option for lunch or dinner. This restaurant, which is located on Wan Chai Road Number 177 offers typical Turkish menus: kebabs, burgers, steaks, and halal pizza. The choice of meat also varies: there are chicken, beef, and also goat, which are served in a combination according to the taste of visitors, whether with white rice or fried potatoes. Not to forget, it includes a typical Turkish vegetable salad in a portion that can be appetizing.

That day, Tuesday (18/7/2019), I visited the Istanbul Restaurant, as we usually call it, for lunch. Taking the tram from Peterson Street terminus in Causeway Bay, I passed one stop, then alighted at the second stop, at Tonnochy Road Terminus in Wan Chai.

To get off at this Tonnochy Road stop, from the direction of Causeway Bay we can take the tram to Kennedy Town, Western Market, or Whitty Street Depot. Meanwhile, from the opposite direction, we can take the tram to Happy Valley, North Point or Shau Kei Wan.

From the tram stop, I crossed the road to the left of the tram line I was taking, towards CC Wu Building, entered it and exited the other side of the Building, which faces Wan Chai Road, and walked to the right.

There are many halal menu options here. I ordered Lamb Sish, a menu for HK $ 128, and a glass of hot Turkish Tea for HK $ 15. Lamb Sish, my favorite dish, is mutton in large cubes, served with the restaurant's signature rice and vegetables. Anyway, for Muslim friends who don't really like rice, you can replace it with french fries.

The menus at this restaurant are considered premium class food in Hong Kong, with food prices ranging from HK $ 63 to the cheapest and HK $ 128 for the most expensive menu.

While enjoying a meal, Sahabat Muslim can also be free online here. This is because the Istanbul Restaurant provides wifi for visitors.

Enjoy! []
