“Initial investigations revealed that the patient visited Victoria Park on October 1 (Hong Kong national holiday) and October 3 (Sunday). Many imported cases

In light of the fact that many imported cases have recently joined non-essential travel after vaccination, a CHP spokesperson stressed that Hong Kong residents should not travel abroad. Especially, if he went for a less important purpose, even though he was vaccinated.

"CHP strongly urges members of the public to avoid all non-essential travel outside Hong Kong, in particular to certain high-risk places under Disease Prevention and Control (Transboundary Transport Regulations and Tourist Regulations)," the spokesperson said.

If overseas travel is unavoidable, CHP strongly recommends that they are fully vaccinated prior to their departure. “They should avoid participating in mass gatherings or non-essential events held outside Hong Kong. They must continue to wear surgical masks and maintain strict personal and environmental hygiene at all times. Parents are also advised to avoid taking their unvaccinated children on a trip,” he said. [DDHKNews]
