DDHK.ORG - In order to welcome the holy month of Ramadan which is expected to take place on April 13-May 12, 2021, Dompet Dhuafa Hong kong (DDHK) formed SAHARA or Friends of Ramadan. DDHK General Manager, M. Imam Baihaqi, explained that SAHARA is a special social volunteer for DDHK who is on duty during the month of Ramadan.
"SAHARA is in charge of distributing zakat and alms to Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong and Macau," said Imam.
A total of 55 people joined in SAHARA DDHK. "There are representatives from 25 taklim assemblies in Hong Kong and the Indonesian Taklim Council in Macau (Matim)," said Riana, a member of the DDHK Volunteer Team.
In carrying out their duties, DDHK will equip SAHARA members with 1 bundle of equipment containing receipts, zakat fitrah coupons, waqf coupons, ID cards, t-shirts, and other necessary equipment. "SAHARA will raise funds for Indonesian migrant workers, then every week, according to their respective holidays, report them to the DDHK office," said Imam Baihaqi.
"Apart from receiving donations in cash, SAHARA also disseminates donations through TNG transfer and donation SMS, "he said.
Apart from that, SAHARA is also in charge of spreading good news on social media by sharing or sharing DDHK posts on Facebook. "At the end of Ramadan, SAHARA who can distribute zakat fitrah in their regions can also register their names with DDHK.
