The isbat meeting was held offline at the HM Rasjidi Auditorium, Ministry of Religion Office.

"The isbat session has been completed, we agreed in consensus, 1 Ramadan falls on Thursday, March 23 2023," said the Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas after holding the isbat meeting at the HM Rasjidi Auditorium, Ministry of Religion Office, Wednesday (22/3/2023) XNUMX/XNUMX) as reported Republika.

Previously, the Director General of Islamic Community Guidance (Dirjen Bimas) of the Ministry of Religion, Kamaruddin Amin explained, the isbat meeting considered preliminary information based on astronomical calculation results (hisab) and field confirmation results through the hilal monitoring (rukyatul) mechanism.

"According to hisab, all systems agree that the ijtima ahead of Ramadan falls on Wednesday 22 March 2023 or coincides with 29 Shaban 1443 Hijriyah at around 00.23 WIB," said Kamaruddin.

Kamaruddin added that according to reckoning the position of the new moon in Indonesia during the isbat meeting at the beginning of Ramadhan 1444 Hijriyah, had met the new criteria set by MABIMS, namely the Ministers of Religion of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

"On rukyat day, 29 Shaban 1444 Hijriyah, the height of the new moon in all parts of Indonesia is above the horizon, ranging from 6 degrees 46,2 minutes to 8 degrees 43,2 minutes, with an elongation angle between 7,93 degrees to 9,54. XNUMX degrees," Kamaruddin explained.
