February, DDHK Distributes Humanitarian and Social Assistance to Sulawesi, Kalimantan and Java

Apart from humanitarian assistance, DDHK also distributed social assistance funds to various areas of origin of Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong and Macau. Namely, to Ponorogo, Madiun, Malang, Batang, Jombang, and Pekalongan.

Still in the social sector, throughout February DDHK provided shelter services to nine Indonesian migrant workers who needed temporary housing.

Media and Da'wah Sector

In the media and news sector, DDHK continues to publish news and information about the Islamic world, the Covid-19 outbreak, institutional activities, as well as the latest information from Indonesia, Hong Kong and Macau. A total of 41 news and articles were published on the website ddhk.org. Meanwhile, on social media, DDHK made 187 posts on the Facebook page Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong, 51 posts on Instagram, and 16 videos on Youtube channel DDHK News.

Through the da'wah program, DDHK provided 10 online consultations, 13 religious tausiyah sessions, and organized 10 Quran study classes, both for adults and children. "These activities were attended by 373 people, consisting of various groups. Namely, expatriates, Indonesian migrant workers and children, ”said Imam Baihaqi.

For the Migrant Class program, DDHK held 8 English class meetings, 4 Package learning class meetings, and 8 online studies. In February, DDHK also organized an activity to play badminton together under the DDHK Sport program which was responded enthusiastically by Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong.

Acceptance of Donations

In its report, DDHK also published the receipt of donations from the public and their distribution in the form of assistance and compensation programs, as well as the implementation of various activities. Based on the report, in total DDHK received donations of HK $ 129,450 for the duration of February 2021.

In detail, the zakat payment fund is HK $ 11,158, infaq HK $ 94,473, waqf HK $ 16,726, and humanitarian donation of HK $ 7,093.

That way, in the first two months of 2021 DDHK raised a donation of HK $ 306,809. "We thank all donors. Thanks to their trust in DDHK, our togetherness in this kindness will continue and be sustainable, ”said Imam Baihaqi.

HK $ 152,848 Expenditure

In February, DDHK spent HK $ 152,848 for financing various programs and disbursement of assistance. Namely, for the operational costs of the institution, the cost of raising funds, funding for da'wah activities, social assistance, humanitarian assistance, and financing various trainings.

The largest percentage of the use of funds was spent on humanitarian assistance, amounting to 28,71 percent. For social assistance, it reached 14,02 percent. Meanwhile, the funding for training was 26,60 percent.
